Recruitment for FIFA World Cup 2026 volunteers is underway in several US host cities. In North Texas, organisers are seeking more than 6,000 volunteers for duties around matches at AT&T Stadium in Arlington. This stadium is set to host nine games, according to reports. The outlet reports that registration opens on 11 August 2025 via volunteer.fifa.com, where applicants can create an account and submit an interest form.
Who can apply and what to expect
Prospective FIFA World Cup 2026 volunteers must be at least 18. They must also complete an in-person interview plus a background check. Interviews are planned for November and December, with selections in January and February. Training will occur from April onward. Selected volunteers are expected to work nine shifts of six to eight hours. They will work in areas such as guest services, media operations, hospitality and fan operations. Bilingual or trilingual skills are considered an advantage.
Uniforms and perks
Volunteers will receive official FIFA World Cup uniform packages by Adidas. This will include shoes, hat, shirt and backpack as part of their accreditation.
Boston launches its volunteer drive
In Massachusetts, the Boston Host Committee has issued its official call for FIFA World Cup 2026 volunteers. They are inviting residents across New England to apply, according to NBC Boston. Applicants must be 18 and able to commit to eight shifts between 11 June and 19 July 2026. There are volunteering opportunities in Boston, Foxborough and other locations (NBC Boston). Boston will host seven matches, including a quarter-final at Gillette Stadium. The games run from 13 June to 9 July 2026 (NBC Boston). NBC Boston also reports that ticket sales for the tournament will open in phases. The first phase begins on 10 September 2025 via FIFA.com/tickets.
