On 28 July 2025, Sameemah Jacobs, 37, was granted R4,000 bail by the Bellville Magistrate’s Court in the Sameemah Jacobs baby abduction case. Sergeant Dawid Fortuin testified that Jacobs used three identities—Sameemah, Wasiema, and Chevon Classen. This is supported by cellphone records showing dual SIMs. These placed her at Mitchell’s Plain Hospital, where Imaan Sharmar gave birth, and also at the abduction site.
