Everton have agreed a season-long loan with Manchester City to sign Jack Grealish. The 29-year-old is undergoing a medical on Monday, according to Sky Sports. The agreement for the Jack Grealish Everton loan includes an option to buy for £50m. Reports indicate that City sought an option clause and suggested a £50m price tag. The figure was described as optimistic for a player entering the final year of his deal.

Financials and Structure

City want to recoup most of Grealish’s £300,000-a-week wages during the loan with Jack Grealish transferring to Everton. Everton’s total outlay could exceed £12m once a loan fee is included. Those terms underline City’s stance while giving Everton flexibility if the move works.

Race to be Ready for Leeds

Grealish aims to move in time to feature in Everton’s Premier League opener at Leeds on 18 August. Various reports suggest the player wants to play immediately, especially with Jack Grealish joining Everton and having their new stadium debut this season.

Why The Sudden Move?

The £100m signing from Aston Villa has slipped down Pep Guardiola’s pecking order. He made only seven Premier League starts last season. Grealish scored once and did not make City’s Club World Cup squad this summer. Sky Sports added that Everton manager David Moyes admires Grealish and could use him centrally to spark creativity. With the Jack Grealish Everton transition, the switch is designed to revive his club form and push him back toward England selection. This is ahead of next year’s World Cup.
